Click! Snap! Again

The gang again - LtoR Meor (new addition), Peeps, Rudy and Me! (Click on picture for more freaky snaps)

I didn’t know what the event was all about and I didn’t care. Important thing was I had fun.

It’s been too long since all of us got together and did stuff. We had fun back then working long hours in a small studio in Bangsar. After I left the place, we did work together once in while on ad-hoc projects but ultimately we all went our separate ways.

Now, since we all have the same hobby, outings like this will be more frequent.

In fact we’re planning one soon. Updates as it happens. Then Rudy can teach me more stuff. Then I can be the kind of photographer I’ve always wanted to be - a better one.

Also, Narisha likes photography too. It’s unfortunate that we only can afford one D-SLR at the moment. Let’s see if things get better in the comming months, I would really love to get her one.

Then we can go out photography outings together, just like how we did during her college days.

Can’t wait for that to happen again.

Chupa Chups

Chupa Chups turns 50 this year. Who would’ve thunk.

Hey did you know that the world’s favourite sucker turns 50 this year?

Yeap, the lollipop - Chupa Chups - the one that I am pretty sure all of us grew up with was invented exactly 50 years ago.

iPhone 3G for Malaysia

iPhone 3G: Apple says its twice as fast. Half the price. I’d love to give it a go

Ok so Apple launched the iPhone 3G in 20 something countries earlier this month. All this means naught to me as the sexy device is not going to be available in Malaysia anyway.

But I hope it won’t stay that way for long. I hope one of the local telcos with have the brains and the brawn to bring the iPhone 3G to Malaysia.

It’s a cool, practical and stylish device. I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t be available here and I seriously don’t understand why some of the poorest countries in the world are listed on Apple’s official site slated to launch the iPhone 3G later this year.

For Malaysia to be left out is an abomination and just opens doors for hackers and crackers to make a quick buck selling grey imports. Rumour has it that the iPhone 3G is retailing for RM4.2k at Low Yat!

And for Singapore to be launching the iconic device in as little as two months time is just too much la. Its not enough they took that piddly rock from us is it?

On the upside, I’m glad to see that somebody has created this blog. It’s an online petition to convince local telcos to actually give what the consumers want.

And this group of consumers including me want the iPhone 3G here in Malaysia. It has to be official, legit and affordable.

I’ve signed the online petition and encourage the you do the same if you feel the same way. There’s nothing to loose if you do sign the petition but there’s a lot to gain if a telco actual does bring in the iPhone 3G to Malaysia

I’m number 299 on the petition by the way.

Zarra’s a mama

Why is Zarra smilling?

Maybe it’s because she just had four beautiful kittens - about 3 weeks ago.

There was suppose to be six but two didn’t make it.

I’d love to show you the kittens, they are all sooo cute! One looks exactly like the dad but Zarra is sooo protective of the kits. Maybe later.

And who’s the daddy?

Chase of course.

Click! Snap!

Since just recently I’ve reclaimed a commodity I am much in need of - free time - I now have the freedom to do some of the things I enjoy doing.

Like taking photographs.

Take a look at some of the snaps I took at an event last week. Peeps and Rudy were there as well. Check out Peeps’ snaps here

Considering I didn’t have a flashgun, shooting in low light was really a challenge. Hence the lack of sharpness. I’m not going to make excuses though, I know it could have been better.

Let’s see if I improve from here.

We did it!

I got a cert. Woohoo!

I have been harping about Download Day since the day I found out about it.

I’m happy to tell you guys that the Mozilla community has succeeded in setting a world record, making Firefox 3 the most downloaded software in 24 hours on 18 June.

From 18:16 UTC on June 17, 2008 to 18:16 UTC on June 18, 2008, over 8 million people downloaded Firefox 3 and its kind of fulfilling to know that I am a part of that.

Since then, Firefox 3 has been downloaded by over 28 million people across the globe.

Closer to home, 163,433 Malaysians downloaded the latest internet browser from Mozilla to date.

Have you tried Firefox 3 yet? Even since I made the switch from Internet Explorer, I’ve never looked back. Suggest you give it a go.

Hiatus II

My god…!

My last posting was on 20 July! I’ve been away from my blog for over a month!

I don’t know what to say, I am so ashamed of myself. I know there’s no excuse for being away for so long but I have been very, very, very busy with work.

More like been worked half to death but all that is over and done with.

And yes, I did mention that something is coming up in the office and that once it’s safe to do so, I’ll tell you all about it.

Well I just realised, I don’t think its appropriate to talk about it here. So I’m just going to leave it at that. My apologies to those who are looking forward to finding out what it is all about - what has gotten me all caught up with work that I didn’t have time to do much else. But I just don’t feel like talking about work, out of work.

All I can say is that it did took a big chuck of my time and my weekends, as for the rest, let’s just leave it at that. I’m making a promise to myself not to talk about my work in my blog.

I’m so caught up with work that I don’t think its fair to myself to still get tangled up with it in my private life. So, once again I’m sorry but I know you all will understand.

Since I’m free now…let’s get reacquired shall we? There’s so many things I want to blog about that I don’t know where to begin.

Well I guess a beginning is as good as any. So let’s just get started shall we? Not sure where this is going to take me but at least its going to take me somewhere. All I know is that its going to be an interesting journey.

Let’s begin.

Welcome to my blog - again.

Funny Emails

I get a lot of emails from colleagues, friends, family, strangers. Some of them are about work, some of them are about stuff, some of them are about nothing at all.

This one I got today is the one of the funny ones.

    4. Mulut cium tangan perlu dimuncung lebih kurang 1 inci

Contoh dibawah:

Jangan Poyo

Have you noticed Celcom’s new slogan/tagline (or whatever it is)?

Looks like Celcom switched from “it’s in your hands” to “you can’t beat the unbeatable”. Don’t know what provoked them to make such a claim but I think it’s too much chest thumping.
